Symantec is Getting Jiggy With It!
Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Symantec to host a rap video contest hackiswack. People basically try and rap about the dangers of cybercrime and the best rapper wins concert tickets to Snoop's show.
Symantec is trying to raise awareness of cybercrime and espouse the dangers of being a "cyber thug". Snoop Dogg isn't exactly known for leading a squeaky clean lifestyle. His music doesn't exactly promote a crime-free lifestyle either. I particularly like the song, "Gin N Juice". I just find the irony of Symantec's decision to pick Snoop Dogg incredibly amusing.
To maximize your enjoyment of the rap contest, Symantec recommends that you "have fun, fo shizzle!" They're hip! They're cool! Symantec's attempt at being cool reminds me of Microsoft's Launch Party recommendations. Both are so wrong, they're right!
